Biography:
Hortense Gerardo is interested in the intersection of artistic identity and economic survivability and is a professional consultant to several local arts organizations. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Yamawaki Arts Center at Lasell, and is the director of a charitable organization that specializes in promoting the work of emerging artists across several performance disciplines.

In addition to her work in cultural anthropology, Hortense is a professional playwright and screenwriter. She is the recipient of several artist grants and professional development awards, and her work has been produced by theatre and independent film companies abroad as well as in the United States.

What do you like about teaching at Lasell?
"The College provides a creative and supportive environment for students, faculty and senior residents to engage in academic and artistic exploration. It is inspiring to be an active member of the vibrant community that makes up the Lasell College experience."
