New Student Orientation Programs

Thank you for coming to Laser Winter Orientation. We hope you had a great time. Please take this survey so that we can continue to make improvements to our program.

We are excited that you have decided to join our community. We have four different Orientation programs here at Lasell College: Laser Link Orientation and Lasell Laser Welcome Weekend for first year students planning to start in the fall, Laser Transfer Transitions in August for transfer students planning to start in the fall, and Lasell Laser Winter Orientation for those students planning to start in January. Please refer to the program description that is designed for you below. Orientation is organized by the Office of Student Activities. The Office of Student Activities is located in the Arnow Campus Center, on the 2nd floor, and is open Monday through Friday 9:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.  during the academic year and Monday - Thursday 9:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. during the summer. Laser Link Orientation
, our June program, is a two-day overnight program that introduces students to Lasell and all the resources available to help you be successful. Students attending this program will meet many of their classmates, members of the faculty and staff, learn about meal plans, housing options and select courses for the fall. On Day 1 of each session student check-in takes place from 8:30 A.M. - 9:00 A.M. The program will be completed between 3:00 P.M. and 3:30 P.M. on Day 2. New Students will receive additional information in the Welcome Packet which is mailed to all deposited students after May 1.

Parent and Family Orientation is a program that complements Laser Link Orientation. A variety of information sessions and other events are planned for your visit. Registration for Parent and Family Orientation is processed concurrently with your student's registration for Laser Link Orientation if you choose to participate.

A full day Parent and Family Orientation is offered concurrently with Laser Link Orientation on Day 2 of the program. Check-in for Parent and Family Orientation takes place from 9:30 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. The entire program runs from 9:30 A.M. - 3:00 P.M., with an optional campus tour offered at the conclusion of the day. The cost is $15 per person (which includes lunch).

Laser Transfer Transitions is for all students transferring to Lasell College will have the opportunity to meet classmates and members of the faculty and staff during the program. In addition, students will choose their courses for the fall and learn about dining options, housing options, and information technology.

Laser Link Orientatino 2.0 is a one-day make-up orientation program for first year students who were unable to attend one of the four Laser Link Orientation sessions in June. Students will get to meet current students, classmates, faculty and staff. All students will also meet with faculty for advising and register for courses and learn about living on campus or commuting, how to get involved and information technology.

Lasell Laser Welcome Weekend
is the second portion of our Orientation program for new students. This three-day program will take place prior to the start of classes. During Lasell Laser Welcome Weekend you will learn how to navigate the Lasell campus as well as the great city of Boston. Part of this program is focused on adjusting to your new community, learning where your classes will take place, meeting with faculty members and discussing your common reading. You will also have the opportunity to explore Boston with faculty and staff members and/or join the first year class on an evening cruise of Boston Harbor. A description of the trips available during the weekend will be posted closer to the weekend. Registration will be available August 2014.

Lasell Laser Winter Orientation 
will take place January 20, 2015 and is focused on helping you adjust to Lasell College, meeting faculty, staff, and other students, and assisting you in the course registration process.

State Board of Higher Education Approves New Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice  Wednesday, December 17, 2014The Massachusetts Board of Higher Education has approved a new Master’s degree in Criminal Justice at Lasell that will offer students multiple concentrations in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Violence Prevention and Advocacy as well as a flexible Criminal Justice option. The online program launches in Fall 2015.
