Lasell College Offers Guaranteed Admission to MassBay Community College Students

March 31, 2011

Lasell College has announced a new guaranteed admission agreement for Massachusetts Bay Community College students. Under this agreement, students who complete an associate's degree at MassBay with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher will be guaranteed admission to Lasell College.

"We are very pleased to enter into this agreement with MassBay Community College. We believe this agreement will benefit both institutions and the students of Massachusetts," said Lasell President Michael B. Alexander.

"Given the potential of the labor market, the mission of both institutions, and the long-standing history in higher education of each institution, it is only fitting that Lasell College and MassBay form this guaranteed admission agreement," said Samantha Hastler, Lasell's Senior Assistant Director of Transfer Admission.

The purpose of this agreement is to facilitate the transfer process for students between both institutions and make opportunities for learning more accessible to a wider student population in the surrounding community.

Under this new agreement, MassBay students will enjoy the benefits of a more streamlined transfer process. To pursue guaranteed admission, MassBay students will complete an Intent to Enroll form at any time while pursuing their associate's degree and forward official college transcripts to Lasell.

In addition, students who have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher while completing their associate's degree at MassBay will be eligible to receive the Lasell College Torch Scholarship, a merit-based transfer scholarship of $5,000 per year.
