Lasell Hosts Event Highlighting Human Trafficking and Prevention

November 16, 2012

Patricia Zinkowski, a film producer and advocate for the prevention of human trafficking, will discuss the issue at an event on the Lasell campus Monday, November 19.

Zinkowski, co-producer of the film Daughters and Sons: Preventing Sex Trafficking in the Golden Triangle, and co-founder of the non-profit Friends of Thai Daughters, will screen the film and discuss the topic at Rosen Auditorium from 6:30 - 8 pm.

Daughters and Sons: Preventing Sex Trafficking in the Golden Triangle showcases efforts to prevent the spread of trafficking in the Golden Triangle region by providing children at risk with safe accommodation, education and self esteem. Zinkowski will discuss her work in the prevention of sex trafficking in Asia and the need to increase awareness of human trafficking through the idea of "the power of one."

Friends of Thai Daughters is a non-profit organization committed to protecting young Thai girls from human trafficking. Its mission is to operate with an all-volunteer staff, ensuring that donations go directly to support programs and help our young girls in the Golden Triangle.
