Lasell Students Win at Regional Mock Trial Competition

Three Lasell students participated in the Northeast Regional Undergraduate Diversity Mock Trial Competition sponsored by the John Marshall School of Law on March 31, with two students winning prizes.
Students Sally Jean-Baptiste, Ricky Landais and Ginna Giraldo competed in the regional contest, which was held at Suffolk University Law School and involved 18 individual participants in mixed teams of two or three .
Ginna Giraldo came in 2nd as an individual "Best Advocate" - receiving a $5,000 scholarship to John Marshall School of Law and a $5,400 scholarship to Suffolk University. Giraldo's team of two came in 2nd as a team with members each winning $5,000 scholarships to John Marshall and $5,400 scholarships to Suffolk each. Sally Jean-Baptiste's Team won 4th place as a team with each member winning $2,500 scholarships to John Marshall and $2,700 scholarships to Suffolk.
As part of The John Marshall Law School's long-standing commitment to access and opportunity to an excellent education, the Undergraduate Diversity Mock Trial Competitions were established to encourage interest in the law among diverse undergraduate students. The experience gives student participants the opportunity to conduct a full trial in a courtroom setting and experience how the law is practiced and applied.
