Wedeman Gallery Hosts New Paper Sculpture Exhibit by Lasell Professor

March 19, 2014

Challenging the fragility of paper, Deborah Baldizar's cast paper figures range in size from miniature to larger than life. A variety of her work will be on view at Lasell's Wedeman Gallery in a new exhibit called Night Swimming.

The exhibit features cast paper figures that stare out at the viewer in sitting, standing and leaning poses, "caught in the moment between the known and the unknown, what was and what will be," according to Balidizar, who is an adjunct Professor of Art at Lasell.

An opening reception will be held March 23 from 4 - 6 pm at the gallery located on Myrtle Ave. on the Lasell College campus in Newton.
The exhibit will run from March 23 to April 15.
