Professor Hosts WWII Talk Prior to Cabaret Production

In an effort to set the context for the College's upcoming production of Cabaret, Professor Dennis Frey will give a talk Wednesday night called "Nazis, Nightclubs & Nihilism: Metropolitan Life & Weimar Culture in Interwar Berlin."

The presentation will be held at 7:30 pm on November 17 in Yamawaki Auditorium and will also feature a talk by Lasell Village resident Mary Black , who will share her experiences during World War II. Honors student and Cabaret cast member, Colleen McCleary will provide dramaturgical briefs based on Christopher Isherwood's Berlin Stories.

The talk is free and open to the public.

The Lasell College drama group, Scribe Tribe, will present its production of Cabaret on December 2 and 3 at 7 p.m. and December 4 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. The shows also take place in Yamawaki Auditorium.

The show will be directed by Assistant Professor Hortense Gerardo and musical direction will be led by Lecturer Harvey Finstein. The play features performances from Lasell College students including Kate Davis, Matthew Bogorad, Giuliana Ciannella, Shalilah Grayson, Isaac Parsons, David Sanchez-Cortes and Kristen Tower.

The production is free for the Lasell Community and donations will be accepted.
