Hopkins Keeps Lasers Focused

Lasell softball claims South Division title

Led by Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Year Katie Hopkins ’24 (pictured above), the Lasell softball team posted a 25-18 record and claimed the league’s South Division title during an outstanding 2024 season.

Hopkins, a first-team all-GNAC selection at third base, led Lasell with a .394 batting average, 35 runs batted in, and 29 runs scored. She tied for the team lead with five home runs and was second with 52 hits.

Pitcher Abigail Fortin ’26 (16 wins, 50 strikeouts) and utility player Eryn Sheeley ’24 (.322 batting average, five homers, 32 RBIs) earned second team all-league honors. First baseman Shyanne Raccio ’27 and outfielder Ally Kirck ’24 were selected to the third team.

The 2024 season continued a program resurgence that began under former coach Sarah Woodside ’07. In her first year, the Lasers finished 0-2 in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, followed by records of 8-13, 14-22, and 28-16-1.elebrate their GNAC victory.
