Whether you graduated from Lasell Junior College, Lasell College, or Lasell University, our alumni describe their time at the institution as life changing. Lasell prepared you for successful careers, provided new experiences, and brought you together with people who would become friends for life.

Flip through the Class Notes section of Leaves for evidence of this special connection. Classmates from the 1950s are still in touch 70 years after meeting at Lasell. Seven 1968 grads who lived in Nason House gathered to celebrate a classmate’s 75th birthday. And when J. Christian Dumais ’02 was sworn in as mayor of Marlborough, Massachusetts, in January, eight other alumni — including three Lasell couples — were there to support him.

Our team’s responsibility is ensuring that alumni stay connected to each other and engaged with Lasell in meaningful ways. To accomplish this, we offer a full schedule of events in person and virtually; share alumni updates and campus news on our website (lasellalumni.org), through social media, and in our monthly e-newsletter; and publish Leaves twice a year.

My colleagues in the Division of University Advancement and I are always looking for fresh ideas and approaches to enhance our alumni programming and outreach. Thanks to all of you who completed our recent alumni survey. We heard you, and here are a few things we plan to implement immediately:

• Schedule events outside the Boston area and develop programming for shared interest groups by profession, age, favorite activity as a student, etc.
• Design communications that are customized and personalized
• Celebrate alumni accomplishments and milestones
