Meal Plans
Residential Meals Plans are:
Weekly meals reset beginning with breakfast on Friday.
Students may enter the Dining Hall as often as they like during regular hours of operation. However, once a student has used all of his/her allotted meals during a weekly meal period, s/he must pay for meals at the door. Cash, credit card, Dining Dollars or Laser Loot may be used to pay for any additional meals. Dining Dollars may be used in any retail location (1851, Glow Lounge, Starbuck's WPB) or to purchase additional meals or guest meals in the Dining Hall.
All resident students are required to participate in a meal plan. Students will not be released from participation in a meal plan for any reason.
Special Dietary Needs
Valentine Dining Hall is set up to provide nutritious meals for all students, including those with food allergies and gluten intolerance. The culinary and management staff members complete regular food allergy and celiac disease training to assist with limiting cross-contact in their production and dining areas
The G8 Menu Station at Valentine Dining Hall prepares a tasty menu line without ingredients from the top eight allergens and gluten. Dining Services follows a Limited Nut Exposure Policy. Nuts/nut oils are not used in resident dining meals. Peanut butter packets are present in Valentine Dining Hall. Individually packaged items with nuts are present at our retail locations. All questions concerning recipe ingredients and food preparation should be directed to our managers and chefs.
There is also a Gluten Free Space, at which a wide variety of packaged GF foods are available, including: cereals, snacks, breads, and prepared pasta without gluten. A toaster and microwave oven are in this area to be used solely for gluten-free foods to minimize cross-contact. Additionally, non-dairy milk beverages are available.
Students with medical conditions calling for additional dietary accommodations should contact the Office of Disability Services for guidance on applying for adjustments in dining services. Students who need specially prepared meals for religious dietary observance should contact the Director of Dining Services or the Executive Chef. Their contact information can be found at: https://www.dineoncampus.com/lasell/staff.
Meals During Break Times
Valentine Dining Hall is closed to meal plans during Thanksgiving break, the December-January break, and March break. Similarly, meal plans are not in operation during the summer months. The Dining Hall will be open during part of the December-January break. During this time, meal cards are not valid. Students may use Laser Loot to purchase meals during these times, however money that is attached to a meal plan (Dining Dollars) may not be used during break times.
Meal Cards
Your Lasell College ID card is also your meal card. Without your ID, you will not be able to enter the Dining Hall. Students should carry their IDs with them at all times. Meal cards are not transferable; students are not permitted to lend their meal card to someone else, nor are they permitted to use someone else's meal card.
Meal cards should be treated like bankcards, and should be protected from extreme heat or cold. Avoid placing the meal card near magnetic waves, such as a stereo or television, which have been known to "demagnetize" the programming which has been coded on the back of the card. Cards will be pre-punched with a hole for carrying on a key ring or lanyard. DO NOT punch additional holes in the ID card as they can interfere with the reading of the card. If you make additional holes in your Torch Card and it no longer works you will be responsible for purchasing a new card. Students should be aware that carrying an ID card on a ring with keys or other cards may result in the scratching and/or disintegration of the card over time.

The Office of Off-Campus Living and Commuter Student Services, located on the second floor of the Intercultural and Commuter Cottage at 70 Maple St., is available for Lasell students who live in the communities surrounding Lasell or who are seeking housing in the area. It provides resources to Lasell students on the apartment search process and advocates for students who are having issues with their current off-campus housing situations. The Office also provides a number of resources to help commuter students maximize their Lasell experiences.
The Commuter Lounge, located on the ground floor of the Intercultural and Commuter Cottage at 70 Maple St.,is reserved for use by commuter students and graduate students. The space contains a seating area, a bathroom, work-space with computers and a printer, a kitchenette including a refrigerator for student food storage, and several lockers which may be reserved for free. Lockers are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must provide their own padlock and clean out their locker at the end of each semester. Full-time resident students are assigned a mailbox on the first floor of the Edwards Student Center. Mailbox numbers and combinations can be found under the “Housing” link in MyLasell. Mailboxes should be checked daily, since important notices and information are sent through the mail. A resident student's mailbox is another means of communication between the college (faculty, staff, administration, etc.) and the student. Students are notified via email when a package has been received by the Post Office. Packages may be picked up whenever the Post Office is open. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, when the College is in session. Packages with pre-paid postage affixed to them may be mailed, and stamps may be purchased through the Lasell Post Office.
A self-service postal kiosk is located in the Butterworth Lounge; you may use your credit/debit card to purchase stamps, postage, and mail letters and packages.
Students holding on-campus jobs will be paid bi-weekly, on an hourly basis. The Offices of Student Financial Planning and Human Resources will be able to guide students to the necessary paperwork that needs to be completed. Students should visit Human Resources during drop-in hours (typically held during common hours) to complete the direct deposit form and other required paperwork, once their hiring manager has completed and submitted the Student Employment Authorization Form. All students must enroll in direct deposit. Payroll vouchers will be delivered to a resident student’s on-campus mailbox each payday, and will be sent to the home addresses of commuter students.
