Four Lasell University student-athletes on the men’s and women’s basketball teams were named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference teams at the conclusion of their seasons.
Senior guard EJ Day was named to the All-Conference First Team after averaging the second-most points per game (21.6) in the entire GNAC. He was also named to the conference All-Tournament team. Senior guard Kevin Nunez was named to the All-Conference Second Team and concluded the season with an average of 16.1 points and 6 rebounds per game. Forward Kevin Vanderhorst, a graduate student, concluded the season with 12.6 rebounds per game — the second highest average in the GNAC this year — and topped the Lasell program record book with 11.2 career rebounds per game. Vanderhorst was named to the All-Conference Third Team.
Senior Meg Carroll was named to the All-Conference Second Team after leading the women’s basketball team in points and blocks per game. Carrol was named GNAC Player of the Week twice this season, and was also recognized as the NCAA Division III National Player of the Week by the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA).
“It was great to have our basketball teams back on the court this year completing full seasons,” said Director of Athletics Kristy Walter. “It was exciting and rewarding to see the success of the teams, coaches, and student-athletes.”
