Between Semesters: Summer on Campus
July 21, 2021
Lasell will host professional, recreational, athletic, and academics on its 54-acre campus in Newton, Massachusetts, this summer.
The institution will welcome students from Boston Ballet School, a returning group, to live and dine on campus for the duration of its summer dance program. Day camps provided by Edge on Science and Lumos Debate will utilize classrooms for their summer programming. The Carroll Center for the Blind and the Collegiate Soccer Academy will also host programs.
"Thanks to the hard work of the Lasell community in navigating the pandemic, I am happy to share that Conference and Event Services is welcoming summer rental groups back to campus this year," said Patrick O’Connor, director of conference and auxiliary services. O’Connor acknowledged the work of campus teams including facilities, sustainability management, campus police, and dining services, for preparing campus for the various summer rentals.
Lasell University’s five-year strategic plan calls for an increase in off-season campus rentals, which are a way for the institution to generate revenue using resources it already has on hand.
