February 17, 2022
Lasell University’s division of Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) has introduced a new Master of Science in Communication, Corporate Communication degree. The 36-credit program prepares students to convey their organization’s core business objectives, societal impact, and responsible practices.
Students in the MS program are trained to become effective leaders using contemporary collaborative models for multi-faced organizations. They will learn to develop corporate social responsibility and/or sustainability strategies and thoughtfully communicate those to internal and external audiences.
“Our goal for this program is to prepare graduate students for leadership roles at organizations where they can generate effective communications in a rapidly changing environment,” said Dr. Janice Barrett, professor of communication and program chair. “Upon completion of this program, our students will be the ones creating crisis management plans so that their organizations can quickly react and solve problems.”
Students will take courses in corporate social responsibility, communication ethics, media relations, persuasion and public opinion, and more. They will also complete a capstone project in one of four formats: a professional internship, comprehensive, exam, thesis, or special study project.
The program can be completed in as few as 12 months in online or hybrid formats.
