POLISHED Magazine Wins Gold Crown Award
June 09, 2022
POLISHED Magazine, a fashion and culture publication written and produced by Lasell University students, has won the prestigious Gold Crown Award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) for the fourth time. Given in recognition for overall excellence, this is the highest honor that CSPA bestows on student-run collegiate print and digital publications. Out of 817 entries from across the country, POLISHED was one of only six publications to earn a Gold Crown in its category.
Recognized as one of the leading collegiate publications in the country, POLISHED, which celebrates its 20th anniversary of publication this year, has previously earned Gold, Silver, and Bronze Crowns as well as Gold and Silver Circle awards from the CSPA. The Spring/Summer 2021 issue of POLISHED recently earned second place for its cover design.
“From concept to completion, POLISHED is truly a student-run publication, with Lasell students overseeing every aspect of the magazine from writing and editing stories, to art direction, styling, photography, marketing, and social media promotion. We are so proud of the magazine’s team and congratulate our students on this impressive and much-deserved achievement,” said Richard Bath, Dean of Lasell’s School of Fashion.
Judging panel feedback from CSPA lauded recent issues of POLISHED for excellent use of color, intriguing concepts, stellar interviewing, and “outstanding photography with unique perspectives and lush color.”
Founded in 1925, CSPA is an international student press association established to “unite student journalists and faculty advisors” at schools, colleges, and universities, through meetings, conferences, the exchange of ideas and best practices, resources, and award programs.
