How has your master’s program impacted your personal and professional growth?
- I’ve always been a strategist. I embarked on this journey to receive my Master of Science with a concentration in Business Strategy and Change Management when I found myself in a leadership role. I wanted to have a better understanding of how to run a business and the decisions that drive organizational change. We are always one technological advancement from a world-changing event. Understanding how to ride the wave of change is pertinent in business. The goal is to be a valuable asset to any organization.
How has the master’s program prepared you for your future career goals?
- Getting my master’s degree provides a great foundation for my future. There is no ceiling. Working while completing my studies has allowed me to get good practice by applying these skills to my role with great confidence. I am more assertive. My perspective is valued not only because I have the knowledge, but because I can demonstrate how to successfully move through challenges. This is a skill that resonates in all aspects of life.
Can you share a particular project or experience you found especially valuable during your time in the program?
- Now that I have completed the master’s program at Lasell University, I can honestly say that the Research Capstone Project was my favorite. While the capstone can be intimidating, being able to synthesize the learnings and demonstrate my research skills has been such a fulfilling experience. I am most proud of my research and contributions and look forward to the future in the field of change management.
How has your perspective on your field of study or industry changed since the beginning of the program?
- The field of change management is always evolving. The most important takeaway is to document historical change so that implementing future change initiatives will be seamless over time and become less challenging.
