Intramural/Recreation Coordinator
Position Description
Hours per week: 10-20
Start date: Fall 2024
Length of position: 2 years
This position will work directly with the Assistant Vice President for Athletics to provide a comprehensive campus recreation program including the coordination and oversight of a robust intramural program.
This role requires you to coordinate, promote, oversee and introduce intramural and recreational programming for the Lasell Community.
Day to day you work to increase recreational programming, increase the number of participants and programs to engage the Lasell Community in active and rewarding events
Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinate a comprehensive intramural/recreational program, striving to engage all members of the Lasell Community.
- Coordinate weekly group exercise programs for the student population.
- Assist with maintenance, purchase, storage and inventory of intramural and recreational equipment.
- Promote all events on campus and through social media.
- Collaborate with the Office of Student Activities to organize campus-wide recreational activities.
- Coordinate with the Campus Events Office to reserve space for intramurals and recreation.
- Maintain a safe, effective and engaging recreation/intramural environment.
- Maintain a high level of written and oral communication with all members of the Lasell Community.
- Research off-campus recreational venues and opportunities to promote on campus.
- Compile participation reports for all activities.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
Required qualifications and skills:
- Ability to conceive, launch and execute recreational and intramural programs
- Ability to promote and market programs to the entire Lasell Community.
- Ability to work within a budget
- Strong communication skills
- Well organized and motivated to engage a variety of groups
- Use of social media to promote and publicize programs
- Comfortable working on multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- A team player with a positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to record, review and adjust programs based on the needs of the population
Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Sport Management, Recreation and Leisure Studies, Fitness Administration or Exercise Science, but other degrees will be considered. Valid Driver's License in good standing, and ability to drive 15-passenger van. Ability to work nights and weekends. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
