Ignite - The Academic or Social Support Program
The Ignite Program provides additional personalized academic support, social skill support, or both, to help students succeed inside and outside of the classroom. Whether seeking academic guidance or a smoother transition to college life, this program offers a comprehensive, tailored experience to help students grow and thrive. These services are offered in addition to the resources available to all students through the Academic Achievement Center, including tutoring, workshops, and writing assistance.
Program Features
Orientation
Start your journey at Lasell with extra time to settle in and get familiar with the campus. Join us a day early for an introduction to key resources and personnel, engaging social activities, meals at Valentine Dining Hall, and personalized campus tours.
Opening Weekend of Fall Semester
Arrive on campus 1-2 days earlier than the general student population. This extra time allows for participation in social events and building connections before classes begin.
Throughout Each Semester
- Academic Focus: Receive specialized support in executive functioning and academic coaching through weekly individual sessions (30-60 minutes) and small group sessions as needed.
- Social Focus: Participate in weekly small-group social skill development sessions using a data-based curriculum. Engage in fun outings and events to build relationships and enhance communication skills.
- Case Management(for Academic or Social Focus): Our dedicated team offers problem-solving guidance and facilitates communication with key personnel to ensure a smooth transition into college life.
Close Connections with Lasell Resources
We collaborate with Health Services, Residential Life, the Counseling Center, Advising, and the Academic Achievement Center and other resources to provide seamless support.
Program Coordinator
A dedicated Program Coordinator within Accessibility Services will work directly with students to meet their needs and support their success.
