At Lasell, we are committed to fostering a learning environment where all students strive for excellence. If you have a documented disability as determined under the ADA and as defined in Chapter 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of1973, you may benefit from certain accommodations.
Academic accommodations are determined on an individual basis, facilitated by the Director of the Academic Achievement Center and Accessibility Services. If you believe you qualify and would benefit from appropriate and reasonable accommodations, the AAC Director is available to discuss those options with you.
It is strongly suggested that you make an appointment and submit documentation before the beginning of the semester.
How to Request Accessibility Accommodations
To begin the accommodations request process, please fill out the appropriate form (requires student credentials):
All personal information will remain confidential. Discussions with parents or legal guardians are encouraged when supported by FERPA documentation.
Gather Documentation
Documentation must be current and comprehensive, made within three to five years of the request for accommodation. It must verify the nature and extent of a specific disability as diagnosed by an evaluator with appropriate professional credentials and include relevant testing results. The need for specific academic adjustments must be clearly substantiated based on current need.
Please note:
- Approved accommodations may differ from those previously provided, as they must appropriately address the current impact of the disability on the student's performance in a collegiate setting.
- Review the Documentation Section in FAQs for more detailed information about acceptable documentation or contact Dolores Radlo with questions.
Submit Documentation
Submit your documentation to the Director of the Academic Achievement Center (AAC) and Learning Disabilities Services for review.

Once all documentation is submitted, schedule a meeting with Academic Achievement Center Director for a confidential conversation regarding your request for appropriate and reasonable accommodations. At the meeting, you will discuss academic accommodation needs, complete the approval process, and identify other available academic support.
Please note: Academic accommodations are determined on an individual basis, with a thorough review of comprehensive disability documentation and a confidential consultation with the student. As accommodation forms will be specific to individual courses, students must meet with AAC staff at the beginning of each semester to obtain updated forms and review progress.
