Resumes and Cover Letters

One of the most important tasks associated with your internship or job search is learning how to articulate your skills and accomplishments so you can write a standout resume and cover letter.

Resumes

Recruiters spend approximately 6 seconds looking at your resume! A resume is your self-marketing tool and it needs to grab potential employers' attention. It's important to have a clear, concise, and organized document that summarizes your qualifications, skills, and experiences. Remember to bring it to the Center for Career Readiness for review and feedback.

Cover Letters

The cover letter introduces you and your resume. A well-developed cover letter can get your resume read; conversely, a poorly written or missing cover letter may hinder your consideration for a position. Your cover letter should be one page long and personalized for the organization, individual, and position.
