Biography:

Professor Leger is a very proud alumni of Lasell's School of Fashion. Following the best undergraduate education, she moved to New York City to pursue her dreams in the industry. This led her to positions in product development, public relations, and fashion journalism. Professor Leger spent over three years at Condé Nast, contributing to Brides, SELF, and Allure.

These professional experiences made the issues of waste, overconsumption, and lack of sustainability in the fashion and textile industries overwhelming, so Professor Leger returned to graduate school at the University of Rhode Island where she earned her master's degree in Textile Chemistry. The fire to remain in higher education and continue teaching these key lessons to future industry professionals was alive. Professor Leger stayed at the University of Rhode Island to continue researching consumer behavior in a circular economy and sustainability in marketing. Her forthcoming dissertation studies zero-waste culture in the context of fashion consumption and disposal. She is expected to complete her PhD in Marketing from their College of Business in the spring of 2025.

Professor Leger revels in sharing her diverse industry and academic experiences with fashion students. Through her, she hopes they can garner an increased appreciation, understanding, and curiosity for the art and science that is fashion and dress.
