The Counseling Center invites 4 to 5 qualified mental health or social work graduate students to complete their final year of clinical training with us. We provide trainees with a comprehensive and supportive experience, of which the primary focus is to provide counseling services to Lasell students. In addition, trainees will engage in group counseling, workshops, outreach, and educational programming. The training program includes:
- Weekly individual supervision
- Weekly group supervision
- Bi-weekly peer supervision
- Weekly staff meetings
- Training on a variety of presenting issues relevant to college populations
- Training in Titanium scheduling software
The clinical placement is 24 hours per week, and follows the Lasell academic calendar, with a typical start date in late August. After a week-long orientation, trainees are expected to be on campus (or potentially virtual) for 3 to 4 days per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with Monday being a required full day. Trainees are expected to see an average of 10 to 12 students per week.
