Public Transit (MBTA)

There are several ways to get to Lasell on the MBTA, the public transportation system of the greater Boston area.

Lasell offers discounted Semester MBTA Charlie Cards to students each semester. Commuter students will receive an email from offcampusliving@lasell.edu prior to the start of each semester with more information. Monthly MBTA Link Passes normally cost $84.50 and may also be purchased from any MBTA station.

Commuters who opt to drive to campus must obtain a commuter parking permit and park in the designated commuter lots. This permit does not allow for overnight parking. If on occasion a commuting student wishes to park his/her vehicle on campus overnight, that student must go to Campus Police with the resident student hosting them and register as a guest. This will insure that a parking ticket will not be issued that night. Parking permits are issued at Campus Police.

Any individual who alters a permit, or is found in possession of a counterfeit or altered parking sticker, may be subject to criminal prosecution, temporary or permanent loss of parking privileges, and fines in the amount up to the cost of a full-year permit.

Students may apply for a parking permit on MyLasell (login required). Students will receive an email from parking@lasell.edu prior to the start of each semester to indicate when they are able to apply for a parking permit.

Parking Fees
A $120 non-refundable parking deposit is required of all students applying for a parking permit, and the remaining fee amount must be paid in full prior to the issuance of a parking permit. Parking fees may be paid by the semester or the year. Within a semester, no refund of parking fees will be made to a student who leaves the University or no longer has a vehicle on campus. If applicable, parking fees will be refunded, upon request, to a student who terminates parking prior to the beginning of an academic semester.

Lasell Shuttle
The Lasell Shuttle is accessible throughout the day. For specific times and locations, check out our interactive map.

Campus Police is located on the 1st Floor of the Winslow Academic Center at 80 A Maple Street.

Students who live off campus are encouraged to take advantage of the many services and activities that Lasell has to offer on campus. Get involved and become a part of the Lasell community!

Lockers

Lasell offers free lockers to commuter students in the Commuter Lounge. They are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must provide their own padlock and clean out their locker at the end of each semester. To reserve a locker please email offcampusliving@lasell.edu.

Computers

Including the four computers found within the commuter lounge, there are also many computer labs for use around campus. They include the Alden Math Lab (in the lower level of the Brennan Library), as well as Doran, Gregorian, Lowe Teaching Lab, Hayes, Weber and the Science and Technology Center.

Public space computers can be found in the Brennan Library, Glow Lounge, Campus Center Lounge, and the third floor of Donahue.

For assistance with technology-related issues, the Technology Help Desk is available 24/7! They are located on the lower level of the Brennan Library and can be reached at 617-243-2200 or by email.

Student Support

Commuters in need of academic support have free access to Lasell's Academic Achievement Center (AAC), located on the lower level of the Brennan Library. The Center for Academic Advising and First-Year Programs provides first-year students additional academic advising services in Bancroft House. Students can make an appointment via Starfish. You may also email or call them at 617-243-2212 with any questions.

Dining options available to campus commuters include Valentine Dining Hall in the Edwards Student Center, Starbucks Coffee, and a la carte dining options - at 1851, the Glow Lounge in the Winslow Academic Center, and Boomer's Grill, in the Valentine Dining Hall. Restaurants and Shops Along the Way

If you're traveling to campus along the Green Line, there are also plenty of other places to eat and shop after classes!

Events

There are a variety of events throughout the semester that commuter students can enjoy. Check the events calendar for things that pique your interest!

Getting Involved

Campus clubs and organizations are a great way to become involved with the Lasell community. Many of the University’s lectures, campus-wide presentations and social and recreational programming are purposely timed to take place during common hours which are mid-day on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Long Distance Lasers

The primary goal of the Long Distance Lasers student club is to work towards improving commuter student's daily life on campus.
